Wow...a year and a half between updates. Robyn and I are now happily married and nearing graduation. I will start a software consulting job in Dallas/Fort Worth with Software Architects on June 2. Time flies...
Forgot to add this very important update...I'm Engaged! Whoop! On July 7, 2004, I asked my girlfriend Robyn to marry me, and thankfully she said yes. :) We are going to get married next summer. Visit our Wedding Site for more information!
Okay, so I guess you've noticed that ExtremePad 3.0 is a few months behind schedule. Unfortunately, it will probably stay on the back burner for a while. I just got too busy during the spring semester of school to work on it, and now I am in Boise, ID, for the summer doing a software engineering internship with Micron Technology, Inc. I just don't have the time to work on ExtremePad. However, maybe I will get back to working on it next semester. I'll just have to wait and see. Sorry for the holdup!
If you have any suggestions for ExtremePad 3.0, please let me know so that I can work on getting
them included before I release the final product. Just e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
ExtremePad 3.0 is coming soon!! I am working very hard on the new version, and it should be released in at least a month, but hopefully sooner.
Read about all the new features and then check out the screenshot below.
Some of the features in the new version include:
Syntax Highlighting for 35+ languages
Code folding like in Visual Studio .Net
Automatic bracket matching
Unlimited Undo/Redo buffer
Page Setup, Print Preview, and Printing that support syntax highlighted documents
Line numbers, Horizontal and Vertical Split Views, Visible whitespace, etc
New group feature for creating groups of files, similar to projects in programming IDE's
Completely new interface (Microsoft Office style)
Much, much more!
E-mail me at email@example.com if you would like to be notified when ExtremePad 3.0 is released.
Extreme Productions now has a new look! I'm still in the process of upgrading all the sites, but it is coming along nicely. Also, I am going to start doing some website design when I go back to school. That's all for now.
I just finished ExtremePad v2.2, so be sure to go download it. It contains a few new features and fixes some minor bugs.
I am currently working on version 2.2 of ExtremePad. There are a few new features that you will see when I release it. Hopefully it will be finished within a few weeks. Take care!
I have just completed ExtremePad v2.01 and it is available for download. It features
a tabbed-interface for multiple file editing and contains a new MinLock feature to protect important information. This version is a great
improvement over v1.1.
Release of Extreme Dice and beginning of the Extreme Productions website.
My name is Blake Birkenfeld, and I started Extreme Productions in February of 2000.
I am now a 19 year old college student at Texas A&M University. I started Extreme Productions
after the completion of my first game, Extreme Dice v1.0, and my intention was
initially to create many freeware games. However, after Extreme Dice, I became very
busy and didn't start working on another program until July. The first version of the program, ExtremePad,
was finished in late August of 2000. I finished v2.01 on July 25, 2001, and version 2.2 on April 25, 2002. I have a lot of ideas for improvements to ExtremePad, but I haven't had a whole lot of time to work on it. Maybe I will in this upcoming school year.
